IoT a short for Internet of Things, is one of the most used technology trends of the current times. It allows adding internet connectivity to common electronics products and appliances thus allowing a remote access of them. Not only this but it opens a wide range of new innovative solutions to problems across multiple industries. Connecting sensor nodes to collect data and then utilizing those data to take data-driven decisions leads to a greater automation opportunities for future.
To give a good overview of the kind of solutions IoT can provide, I have compiled a list of top 4 IoT projects for beginners which depicts a promising solution across different industries. Do have a check to the below list.

1. IoT based Smart Irrigation System
This Smart irrigation project has wide scope to automate the complete irrigation system. This IoT based Irrigation System uses ESP8266 NodeMCU Module and DHT11 Sensor, and not only automatically irrigate the water based on the moisture level in the soil but also send the Data to ThingSpeak Server to keep track of the land condition. The System will consist a water pump which will be used to sprinkle water on the land depending upon the land environmental condition such as Moisture, Temperature and Humidity. Watch the video below to learn more about the project.
2. IoT Based Air Quality Index Monitoring
In this project, we build an ESP32 based Air Quality Monitoring using Nova PM SDS011 sensor, MQ-7 sensor, and DHT11 sensor. An OLED Display module is also used to display Air Quality Values. The Air Quality Index (AQI) in India is based on eight pollutants, PM10, PM2.5, SO2 and NO2, CO, Ozone, NH3, and Pb which are considered to calculate the AQI in this product.
3. Smart Water Quality Monitoring System Using IoT
This smart water quality monitoring project allows you to measure pH value, temperature and soil moisture. For this project we used Arduino UNO, NodeMCU, Gravity Analog pH sensor, DS18B20 temperature sensor, Soil moisture sensor
4. IoT Based Smart Key Finder
Build this IoT-based Smart Key Chain just using ESP8266-01, Buzzer, and Battery. Now in case if you can’t find your keys and you remember that you have attached an IoT keychain to your keys, so you take out your phone and open Chrome and open your Keychain Webpage.
